Accounts Assistant/ Credit Controller
Location: Marchwood (SO40)
Position: Permanent
Hours: Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm
Salary: £20,000 p/a
We are working with a well-established container storage company in Marchwood, looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to work alongside their growing team. Main responsibility is to monitor and maintain assigned accounts and provide customer service regarding collection issues, process customer refunds, process and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments.
Duties include, but not limited to:

Weekly and monthly reporting to direct supervisor on all queries and delinquent accounts.

Processing monthly credit memos and the appropriate reporting

High volume phone calls to assigned delinquent customers

Ensure customer details are accurate and amend where required in Sage 50 and Syrinx

Any changes to the customer database are required to be in writing and attached to the accounting system for future reference

Reconcile customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances that are due in a timely manner

Account updates on all current accounts

Provide excellent & considerate customer service to everyone, Internal and External

Participate in team planning meetings

Meet defined department goals as advised by your supervisor

Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

Proven experience within accounts positions essential

Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Highly organised individual with the ability to deal with multiple workloads at the same time

Can accurately and promptly process various documentation
-
Ability to deal with large quantities of financial data

High level of theoretical knowledge of technical accounting issues

Must be able to use various computer programs or accounting software, such as Excel, Microsoft Word and Sage 50 Professional.
